Kickoff

Our first gathering is a hosted discussion around one question: what's the most eye-opening thing you're working on, personally or professionally? It doesn't have to be AI. We're probably going to talk about AI a lot.

01About

Madison has the talent. Let’s bring it together.

From health systems and research labs to startups and enterprise technology, Madison is home to people working on some of healthcare’s most interesting problems.

Those worlds don’t always meet. Someone at a health system rarely sits down with a biotech founder. An engineer building AI agents rarely hears what a clinic manager actually needs. Everyone is keeping up with the same changes, separately.

Madison Health Works is a place for the people behind that work to find each other, trade ideas, and learn from one another. Practical conversations, surprising connections, and the belief that good ideas get better when they’re shared.

02How we gather

A different kind of gathering.

Not another keynote. Not another sales pitch. A room where people share what they’re actually working on and get better together.

  1. 01

    Come curious.

You don't need to have the answers. Good questions are where most of the interesting work starts.

  2. 02

    Share the real work.

Bring what you're building, testing, learning, or stuck on. Half-finished counts.

  3. 03

    Learn by doing.

Expect real conversation, hands-on exploration, and something you can try the next morning.

  4. 04

    Build together.

Different backgrounds make better ideas possible. Nobody in the room knows all of it.

03Community

Different backgrounds. Shared curiosity.

Clinicians, builders, researchers, operators, founders, product leaders, technologists, and anyone interested in making healthcare better. Whether you’re deep in the technical details or simply curious about what’s emerging, there’s a place for you in the conversation.

  • Healthcare & clinical

    clinicians, health systems, operations, administration

  • Technology & AI

engineers, data scientists, product teams, EHR and enterprise software

  • Biotech & life sciences

    research, pharma, medtech, clinical trials

  • Startups & innovation

founders, early teams, investors, commercial strategy

  • Operations & transformation

process improvement, revenue cycle, finance, consulting

  • Research & product

academic research, design, product management, analytics

You don’t need to be

a software engineer · a startup founder · an AI expert · an executive · a public speaker

You do need to be

Curious.

Experienced practitioners make the room better. So do people who are brand new and willing to ask “how does that work?”

04Formats

Less networking. More working.

Every gathering is a little different. Sometimes we’ll hear from people building something interesting. Sometimes we’ll roll up our sleeves and solve a problem together. Sometimes we’ll bring the whole room into a conversation about what’s changing in healthcare.

The constant is the people: curious, generous, and ready to learn.

An idea worth exploring + people worth learning from + a chance to take part.

  • Show & Tell

Short presentations from people making interesting things: a working agent, a prototype, a process that finally works.

  • Working Sessions

Pick a practical problem and work on it together. Map a process, design a workflow, find the automation hiding in plain sight.

  • Salons

A facilitated conversation about what's changing in healthcare and what people are learning from their own projects.

  • Problem Solving

A local nonprofit or healthcare organization brings a real challenge, and the room puts its collective expertise on it.

What we believe

We believe the future of healthcare is built together.

Madison is full of extraordinary people working across healthcare, technology, research, and life sciences. Too often, we work in separate circles.

Madison Health Works brings those circles together.

We are builders, thinkers, operators, clinicians, creators, and curious minds. We believe ideas get stronger when they're shared, learning speeds up through practice, and real connections start with genuine curiosity.

We don't gather to talk about innovation from a distance. We gather to explore it, challenge it, build it, and make it useful.

Come curious. Bring something you're working on. Leave with something new.

Let's make healthcare work better, together.

05Organizers

Built by people who believe in this community.

Madison Health Works started with a simple idea: the most interesting people in healthcare should have more chances to learn from one another. It began with a few local conversations and a shared commitment to make that happen.

Community supporters

Made possible by our community.

Our gatherings run on the people who show up, and now and then on a local organization that helps cover a room or a round of drinks. We keep it simple: a thank-you here, never an ad.

If your organization would like to support a future gathering, talk to any of the organizers.

There’s a lot happening in healthcare. Let’s figure it out together.

Join our next gathering and meet the people shaping what’s next.
